...Apple is rumored (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/04/28/apple-purchases-icloud-com-for-4-5-million/) to have purchased the iCloud.com domain name for $4.5 million dollars.
Does this mean whoever randomly happened to have iCloud.com just made 4.5M$? Is there any money to be made by squatting on those? That seems counterintuitive, since if anyone could do it, so could Apple. Or do all domain names that have the form i[noun].com cost a ton of money for that reason?

A person can buy a movie from iTunes and play it on as many iPODS they want (how many does a single household actually have?) or a person can just get netflix, request the movie, rip it, put it on his OR her iPOD, and watch it as many times as he or she wants.
I WOULD NEVER DO THAT, but I know people that would think about it...

Hi, I just purchased the 13 Air few days ago. I noticed when choosing which drive to choose at beginning (OSX or Win7), under the 2 drives is a list of available Wifi's.
What's the point of that?
Thanks in advance.

Another 600 megabyte "patch"! Thanks Apple!
Wow
Do you really think the patch is 600MB. You really don't have a clue.

I don't care for Kobe but when your body is producing adrenaline and endorphins your behavior changes. Very common in basketball and football
to hear every possible slur imaginable.
Exactly!
Heck I have said some crap to good friends of mine on the ice and they have said some crap to me. Even at my level of play there's emotion that sometimes gets the better of us.

I've waited so long for the white iPhone 4 that I no longer care for an iPhone 4 and will simply wait for the iPhone 5. The delay in shipping the white iPhone 4 cost Apple a sale. It's not like my iPhone 3G stopped working when the iPhone 4 was released.

Hi
Well I think my question is obvious.
Is it safe to update my iTunes and still be able to synchronize it without problems?
Thanks

I wrote that, so I'm sure I'm the one who misspelled NEW. It should say NEW themes, not NEWS themes. If you get a chance to fix it, you can remove my post too :)

Hi All,
First off I am new here, so Hi again
I have a small problem getting Microsoft Outlook 2001 to use my 2003 Exchange server. I have to admit I am new to macs and am finding it a little hard to do anything but I am trying.
From what I can tell is that for some reason my the mac will not resolve the server name to an ip address. I mean when I look in the Outlook settings, under services --> properties if I place the servers IP address there and then the user name and then 'check the name' it resolves the name of the server and under lines the user name (which as far as I am concerned has worked).
Yet when I then launch Outlook I get a message saying folders could not be opened. The attempt to log on to the server failed..... Microdoft Outlook could not be started. The attempt to log on to the MS Exchange Server failed....................
What I have done so far:-
Updated the /etc/hosts file and added the ip address for the server (can ping both IP and name from the console and network util)
When in Outlook settings --> properties and user the server name instead of the IP address and try and check name I get an error.. The name could not be resolved. Network problems are preventing connection to the MS Exchange Server, Contact your system adminsitrator (me).
Sorry for the long post but this is a real problem. Any help would be much appreciated.
Ian
PS The only thing I can sort of think of at the moment is that Outlook starts I think in classic mode??? I am not sure if this starts a new shell and therefore ignores the /etc/hosts file and that is the reason why it can not resolve the server name. If I am right my next question would be where is the hosts file for the classic enviroment??

OK, this is nice, but they need to light a fire under the collective ass of the .mac development team. That service is in dire need of a complete and total overhaul.

Could we see a picture of your engraving please?
I've tried snapping pictures of my engraving, but my camera won't pick up anything but a blur... But for what it's worth, it seems the Capital letters / numbers are exactly 1/16th of an inch in height.

^^^ Really? I think as usual it looks like a booring American car....
Eh, normally I would agree with you, but I can't deny Chevy this one. It is a good looking car, imo. Like Quagmire was saying, in the "Normal" family sedan market, bland and boring is par for the course. This new Malibu, at least on its exterior and interior looks, seems to be a nice change from that norm.

The screen may not change on the next revision. So there may be no need to change production.
Exactly my thoughts.

Who needs a new iphone every year? Let alone every 2 years? I just got an iphone 4 and it's so much more advanced than certainly any phone that I've ever had (and probably more advanced than most phones out there), that I don't see anyone needing to replace it ever unless it brakes.

And this is why we wanted competition Mr Jobs. They battle and we all win.
Jobs didn't want that. He wanted the several million dollars in kickbacks that AT&T gave Apple from AT&T's customers' monthly cell phone bills.
